For Students
At Mid-Florida Psychiatry Center, we provide psychiatric care to patients through tele visit, as well as training for students in history taking, diagnosing common psychiatric conditions, and treatment approaches. Students will also learn about various pharmaceuticals used to treat psychiatric illnesses. We welcome students from NOVA Southeastern University, Barry University, online RNP programs such as Wilkes, Walden, Florida State University, and several Caribbean Medical Schools.
We encourage each student to contact us via email or phone and provide their personal email address (not a school email, as many school servers may block access) to receive access to a Google Drive folder. This folder contains detailed information about the rotation, useful links, and a passcode to join the Zoom room. Additionally, you will find mandatory paperwork that must be completed and emailed or uploaded to the Google Drive folder before starting the rotation.
Dress Code: There are no specific requirements; you may choose your uniform, scrubs, formal attire, lab coat, etc., as long as it is decent and professional.
Equipment: To ensure a smooth experience in the Classroom Zoom and patient interview Zoom rooms, you will need two devices capable of launching the Zoom application and one mobile phone for calls or texting. A good internet speed is recommended for seamless audio and video calls.
Orientation: Please watch the brief video and read the orientation document in the Google Drive to familiarize yourself with the telepsychlive visit process, patient Zoom rooms, and classroom participation. Passwords will be provided on the first day of your rotation or can be found in the Google Drive after you request access with your personal email.
Below are some forms that you can complete and submit (these are also available in the Google Drive for download). Completing these forms is mandatory before you receive any passwords to access the EHR etc.
